Well, almost every night consisted of at least 2 games of chess either against Katelyn or Tyson. Lets just get it out there now. I BEAT TYSON and if you can't tell, I am SO PROUD of myself!! haha He is such a killer champ at that game so when I won, (it was about 1am) he blamed it on him being tired and not thinking straight. Killed his precious Queen and after an hour long game, it was over for him. haha GOOD times. :) Playing Katelyn was always fun because we were evenly matched with our skills and ability with that game so we both felt like we each had a pretty good shot at winning.
Lets see, I got home to Elma on Wednesday night.
Thursday we went out to Lost Lake to visit Nanny & Gucky (my dad's parents) because I missed them so much and hadn't seen them since our wedding about 7 months ago!!! I rode out on the road bike with my dad and we talked with them and ate Nanny's homemade cinnamon rolls for a good hour or so before the rest of the crew showed up. Katelyn, Cohen, and baby Maddox were waiting at home for Mom to get home from work and Tyson home from school. When they got out there, I played with Cohen outside down by the dock, throwing rocks, and splashing our feet in the water. He is so adventurous and just LOVES the outdoors! Every time we are at the lake together we always wind up at the tether ball. He is so fascinated with that thing, it's hilarious!
COHEN:
I give him airplane rides, sometimes he's even a sack of potatoes over my shoulder, we play duck duck goose.. (so glad I taught him that game -- he is the absolute cutest when he says "duuuck duuuuck duuuck gooo!" Doesn't quite say the ending of goose yet.) Sometime he'll skip saying duck at all and go straight to saying "goo!" because he loves running around everywhere. It's pretty funny just the 2 of us playing it.
But the thing that he LOVES THE MOST that even tops playing "duck duck goo" with me is taking him out on the dirt bike around the yard, down to the end of the road and back (upper falls creek rd.), and down into the field by the creek. If it were Cohen's way, he would ride that bike ALLLL day and never want to go inside to eat or sleep. I remember one of the days at home he was on the bike with Papa Tim and they came in after a good 25 minute ride to the field and they stop the bike in the garage to be done, well, Cohen is not done by any means. He points to the next by and says, "Brrrooommmm, brrroooomm.." making the motorcycle sound haha. Or he'll say, "one more!" So dad, (Papa Tim), can't resist that cute little blondie and sure enough they finally come in the house after riding each and every one of those dirt bikes. Such a funny kid.

Now these next 2 pictures are hilarious!! Katelyn, Tyson, and I were watching TV in the living room when Cohen decides that his friend, Bun, is hungry. So, in his 2 yr. old mind the obvious thing to do was to lift his shirt a little and let Bun feed from his belly button! hahaha Tell me that isn't the cutest and most adorable thing ever!
Then, like any other baby would have to have done after eating, the BURP. No one told Cohen to do any of this. We just looked at him and thought, where in the world did he learn this??? He gave Bun a few pats on the back and decided, Ah, he burped, all better. Then laid Bun down in the swing, put a blanket on him and pushed the power on button with music for Bun to fall asleep.
Pretty sure he learned this from seeing his Mommy feeding baby Maddox. Adorable.
Maddox on the other hand, he loves it when I make funny faces at him or touch his cheeks and nose, he has been giving me SO many cute smiles and he even started to giggle on this trip to WA! I can't believe how big he is going to be the next time I see him in September! That little boy is so strong and is always trying to stand up on his 2 tiny feet whenever he is on my lap.
Maddox -- about 4 months old
The first weekend I was home was Tyson's state track meet in Cheney! He left with his track team on Thursday and we left on Friday at 6am. We got to Cheney around 12:15pm just in time to find out seats and watch Tyson's friend, Ray Stark do the 100m dash and win 1st place!
Tyson's event wasn't until about 3:15 so we got to enjoy watching all of the other athletes compete in their events. Track is one amazing sport!
Tyson won STATE CHAMP in his event that afternoon in the Triple Jump with his Personal Record by 2 feet and State Title at 45ft. 3.75 in. JAW Dropping. Perfection.
The story: he didn't get any practice jumps in because he didn't want to. Coach Aiken told Tyson that his competition had been getting 2, 3, even 4 jumps in. Tyson just said to his coach, "Good, they'll be tired." Coach Aiken didn't know what to say to that so he just stood by the fence and waited for the event to start. Tyson qualified from his first 3 jumps into the final round where the top 9 get to have 3 more attempts. Tyson scratched the first 2 jumps because he went over the measuring line too far and so the official couldn't count those jumps. His FINAL jump, he stepped back about a foot from his normal starting place and gave it all he had, bruised heel and all, and flew like an eagle through the air winning GOLD. Breathtaking.
So PROUD of him!!!!!
Hopefully this link will work and go to my sister's facebook page where his slow-mo triple jump for gold will show up....
Jumping to clear 5'10"
Tyson's 4x4 team took 4th in STATE! Such an amazing weekend in Cheney, I even got a sunburned face that turned to a tan. haha :)
