Making it the BEST 2 weeks

My trip home started 2 weeks ago at 3:30am. Why is it that all of my trips seem to begin before the sun rises??? Something my dad would say, "Because there is work to be done." Isn't that true.

Anyways....

3:30am on Wednesday May 28th -- Wake up to wash my face off, put on some make-up, put the contacts in and brush my teeth.

4:00am -- Sean and I stop at McDonald's for a LARGE Dr. Pepper because its only $1 and we needed it. Some people SWEAR by Coffee, well, I swear by DP to get me going haha After 10 minutes of waiting in line we finally get our DP. WHO in their right mind goes to McDonald's at 4 in the morning!!!!! Besides us! Crazy people.

4:10am -- Hop on 210 heading west for the 2.5 hour drive to the Houston Hobby airport.
Lets get this straight. WORST drive ever!!!
                 1. It is 4AM
                 2. It is raining cats & dogs NOT like Washington rain. Washington rain is usually just a drizzle and lasts all day. This kind of rain was torrential and would go in periods of about 10 minutes each but boy were those 10 minutes scary!
                 3. Hydroplaning
                 4. BIG semi trucks flying past you spraying water all over your windshield ...mind you, it is DARK out.
                 5. Source of light=LIGHTNING. I was sure my plane would go down that morning because of the lightning & thunder storm.
                 6. 2.5 hours of knowing that this is my last time seeing my husband for 2 whole weeks!!!! So sad. That was our first and last time ever being apart overnight. EVER. Avoid leaving your spouse at all costs.

We finally get to the airport at about 6:30am. Sean hops out to get my duffel bag and we say our goodbyes with a LONG hug and a few kisses. :) And then we were on our separate ways.

I was checked in very quickly, hardly a line at all for security which was just a breeze!
Made it to my gate with 45 minutes to spare.

Boarded the plane and we were 6th in line to take off when the pilot comes in on the intercom and says that we have to wait until the STORM passes over. Sitting at my window seat I look out the window and I cannot see a single building or parked plane, nothing. All I could see was a blur of some sort of fog because it was pouring like none other. After 10 minutes of waiting we finally took off. I probably said about 100 prayers that the plane would take off and we wouldn't get struck by lightning. To my surprise, there was little turbulence at all and we were actually 10 minutes early to the Albuquerque airport for my connecting flight.

I had another hour to wait before my flight left for Seattle. This flight was a lot better. It was late morning, clear skies, no turbulence. SMOOTH SAILING.

Landed at the SeaTac airport just after 12pm and my mother-in-law Corine and her oldest son Tyler and his wife Courtney were there to pick me up! :)
We went to Wendy's for a frosty and burger because I was starving. I had only had a few sips of DP at 4am and some peanuts and pretzels and more DP on the plane haha

We got to their home and relaxed for a little bit. Played the BEST game I have played in a while! DOMINION. Don't ask me how to play because it's too hard for me to explain. I was very skeptical before playing BUT to my surprise, AND everyone else's, I WON!!! By 1 point! That was awesome :) We played another 3 or 4 rounds.

We ordered pizza for dinner :)

My mom drove just over halfway to their home Covington and we met up with her so I could then go home to Elma. :) Mom and I ran QUICK errands starting with Costco. Made it there with 3 minutes before they closed!!!! Then to WalMart for a few things and we were home within an hour. Quickest grocery shopping Mom and I have ever been on together. We were very surprised.

Got home and Mom had already made dinner and it was ready when we got home. I LOVE my mom's homemade food....It's the BEST! :)

The rest of my trip is To Be Continued...
